Griffonia (Griffonia simplicifolia), a native plant of tropical African wetlands (Ghana, Ivory Coast, Togo), is the main source for the production of food supplements containing 5-HTP.

The disk-like seed with black nuances is widely called the “African bean”. It contains 7-10% 5-hydroxytryptophan.

The beneficial effects of Griffonia are given by the presence of 5-hydroxytryptophan in mature seeds. This amino acid, which is a precursor of serotonin in the human body, is an important neurotransmitter

Interest in Griffonia has developed quite recently in Europe, triggered by the discovery of 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) in its seeds.

5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP): the direct precursor of serotonin (5-HT), is one of the main mediators and regulators of mood, sleep and appetite. 5-HTP is rapidly absorbed when taken orally.

20% [100mg] 5-HTP (HPLC method)

 

Ingredients: griffonia seeds extract, maltodextrin, anti-caking agent (vegetable magnesium stearate). Capsule of vegetable origin in hydroxypropyl methylcellulose.
