A-Basic is a food supplement of alkalising minerals (potassium bicarbonate, calcium phosphate and magnesium carbonate) that favour the physiological acid-base balance of the human body.

The acid-base ratio is an essential metabolic compensation system to maintain constant vital body functions.

This balance is affected by the body’s metabolic reactions, by personal habits (e.g., sports), by wrong diets and by health conditions that either increase acid production or slow it down.

Acidification modifies enzymatic activity, slowing down the metabolism and triggering inflammatory processes and bone demineralisation.

Supplementation with alkalising agents, combined with dietary changes, is an excellent strategy to restore the acid-base balance.

Even mild acidosis can induce inflammation, particularly in overweight and obese subjects.

Physical exercise produces acid in the metabolism and in muscles, with possible subsequent exercise-induced hyperacidity and the related symptoms (muscle cramps and fatigue).

Metabolic acidosis causes muscle loss and encourages the decrease of lean body mass: supplementation with alkalising elements can favour the maintenance of muscles.
