Dong Quai belongs to the Umbelliferae family. The ancients named this plant angelica to celebrate its many “paradisiac” properties.

 Dong Quai has been used in Asia for centuries to treat gynaecological symptoms and problems.

This herb plays an important role in female hormonal cycle regulation, with particularly evident positive effects in cases of dysmenorrhoea (painful menstruations) and of irregular menstruations. Many studies confirm that Dong Quai attenuates menstrual pain with its antispasmodic substances that reduce the uterine contractions that cause pain.
