Devil's Claw is a native African plant that belongs to the Pedaliaceae family.

It has been used to fight rheumatic pain over the centuries, and the latest studies have confirmed the traditional use of this plant. The part of Devil’s Claw that is used comprises secondary roots, rich in active ingredients, of which arpagoside is the most extensively studied.

Studies report that Devil’s Claw has anti-phlogistic, analgesic and antispasmodic actions that are used to treat rheumatic, arthrosic and arthritic conditions.

The bitter compounds present in Devil’s Claw, such as arpagogenin, have a relieving action on gastric disorders, soothing the inflammation caused by acid reflux.

Arpagoside: substance that belongs to the class of iridoid glucosides. It interferes with the production of prostaglandins and nitric oxide (inflammation mediators), with a protective action on cartilage (inhibits the activation of enzymes that degrade cartilage).
