Coprinus Bio

Coprinus Food Supplement

Titrated at 50% of polysaccharides and at 20% of β(1,3-1,6)-D-glucans. Produced by organic farming.

Particularly appreciated in the culinary sector, Coprinus comatus is known by the name of Shaggy Mane for the hair-like fringes that cover it, or even Porcelain Mushroom. At the end of the maturation phase, the mushroom turns from white to black. In the past its cap yielded a highly resistant liquid colouring; hence, the additional name Ink Mushroom.

Of all the medicinal mushrooms, Coprinus is the most active one for blood glucose regulation due to the combined presence of vanadium, a micronutrient that intervenes in insulin metabolism. The use of vanadium might produce some side effects that have not been reported with the use of the medicinal mushroom. This occurs because the side effects of vanadium are prevented by administering iron, and Coprinus is particularly rich in this mineral.

Some studies report that Coprinus can support prostate function, particularly be reducing PSA levels
