L-Lysine Food Supplement

Essential amino acid involved in the synthesis of connective tissue and of carnitine.

Lysine favours the formation of antibodies, hormones (as those of growth) and enzymes. In its hydroxylated form, as a result of the intervention of vitamin C, it is a component of collagen. In addition, lysine is a precursor of an important vitamin, niacin, or vitamin B3.

Hair is mainly made up of proteins and particularly of two amino acids, lysine and cysteine (both of which are present in keratin).

According to some clinical studies, the intake of this amino acid can reduce the incidence of lesions caused by herpes simplex, a virus that originates the most common labial herpes.

Additional data suggest its role in the maintenance of healthy hair.
