Superoxide dismutase has an important detox and anti-inflammatory effect that helps to maintain the physiological redox balance, which is often disturbed by many factors (ageing, cigarette smoking, atmospheric pollution, exposure to sunlight, etc.).

The anti-inflammatory effect is translated into immune system protection, especially on the airways and on the skin, reducing oxidative stress resulting from over exposure to sunlight.
