Valeriana

Valerian Food Supplement

Titrated at 0.42% of valerenic acid, it is indicated for relaxation, to favour sleep and in case of stress.

This plant seems to act as a depressant on the nervous system, and is used for sleep disorders associated with stress and anxiety. A characteristic of valerian is the typical odour. In fact, during the drying process it releases acids with 4-6 carbon atoms, including butyric, valerenic and caproic acid, whose esters endow the plant with its characteristic odour.

Valerian has a sedative and hypnotic action, and its consumption is associated with a shorter REM phase during the first part of the night, and when it increases during the subsequent phases of sleep.

 Valerian has obtained good results in disorders, such as menopause, restless leg syndrome and psychosomatic disorders.

A myorelaxant action has also been observed on smooth muscles. This can be useful for dysmenorrhoea and other conditions that require an antispasmodic action.

The titrated and standardised plant extract maintains the quality and quantity of natural active ingredients unchanged, ensuring the product's stability, bioavailability and efficacy.

Valerenic acid: among the most important active ingredients present in the root we find essential oil, which contains isovalerenic acid, camphene and borneol.
